The cricket season gets into full swing next week when the 1st team, under-16A, under-15A and the under-14A teams all go to cricket festivals. All four festivals run from Saturday 30th September to Tuesday 2nd October.

The 1st team will be in action at the Michaelmas Cricket Week in Pietermaritzburg. They play three 50-over games, on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and a T20 on Tuesday.

They play Durban High School on Saturday; Kearsney College on Sunday; Westville Boys’ High on Monday and Glenwood on Tuesday.

The under-16A team plays at Westville Boys’ High. They play 50 over games on Saturday and Sunday; two T20s on Monday and one T20 on Tuesday. Their fixtures are: Saturday – Westville; Sunday – Northwood; Monday AM – Kearsney; Monday PM – Maritzburg College; Tuesday – Clifton.

The under-15s are at Pretoria Affies. They play 50 over games against Rondebosch (Saturday); SACS (Sunday) and Bishops (Monday). On Tuesday they play a T20 against Wynberg.

The annual Charl Van Rooyen under-14 Week is hosted by KES this year, with two games a day at Jeppe. The Jeppe under-14s are at home all four days. On Saturday they play Grey High; on Sunday Bishops; on Monday Kearsney and on Tuesday Selborne.

The local season gets under way as soon as we get back to school.
