Jeppe win the rugby in 1st leg of the derby

The 1st round of the 2018 double-header derby fixture against King Edward VII school was played last weekend, with KES coming out on top in most of the encounters.

Jeppe did, however, win a number of crucial games on the day, including the big one – the first rugby game. The 24-21 victory was the first one at KES in a number of years, with the historical record showing that Jeppe hardly ever wins this fixture away from home.

Jeppe also won the under-16A game, which augurs well for the future.

The 1st hockey team drew 2-2, with KES scoring a late equaliser after Jeppe led for most of the game. Importantly, Jeppe won the under-16A and under-14A games, and drew the under-16B and C games – showing our hockey teams are competitive at junior level.

KES, with their greater number of boys, clearly have more strength in depth than we have. We are looking forward to the return fixture in July.
