It’s been an amazing fortnight for Kgaudise Molefe. The 17 year-old spin bowler spent a week in India with the cream of South Africa’s young spin bowling talent, getting pointers from the experts in the country where the art of spinning was perfected, and no sooner had he returned when he was invited to the SA under-19 high performance camp in Pretoria from which the national u-19 side to meet the West Indies next month was chosen.
The under-19 camp was at the HPC centre at Tukkies and there they were subjected to a fitness assessment, and they played two 50-over games. All the under-19 coaches were there, as were 28 of the top under-19 players.
A few days later the SA under-19 team to play a series of 1-day games against the West Indies u-19 team was announced and Kgaudise was among the 15 players named.
