DO

Get out of bed early enough in the morning to air your bed and be fully ready for inspection at 06:45 (1)
Open and fasten dormitory windows (weather permitting) by inspection (1)
Pack and lock all your belongings away neatly, and leave your bed and belongings tidy all day (1)
Leave the house for school by 07:30 (1)
Remain silent in and near the prep room from 15:00 - 15:45 and 16:15 - 17:00 (1)
Attend meals on time or notify the matron and master on duty of your intention to miss, or be late for, a meal (1)
Report anyone missing from your table at meals to the master on duty (1)
Help clear your table after supper (1)
Refrain from taking cutlery or crockery out of the dining room (1)
Ensure that the prep room and dining room are clean and tidy at all times, but especially after prep (1)
Shower at 17:00 (if involved in sport) or during prep breaks as arranged by the prefects, but before 22:00 (1)
Refrain from excessive noise in or near the house (1)
Wear full school uniform when leaving from or returning to the hostel (1)
Get an attendance slip signed by the person in charge when missing roll call, prep or meals for school activities (1)
Give this document to the master on duty on your return or at the start of the first prep session (1)
When returning late after a weekend, notify and also report to, the master or prefect on duty (011 618 1640) (1)
Keep the house and hostel premises free of litter (1)
Take no phone calls during meals or prep; your parents should phone 011-618-1640 or 011-614-4233 in emergencies (1)
Attend Roll Call at 16:00 daily, at 14:00 on Friday, and at 19:30 on Sunday evening (2)
Attend prep and house notices at 18:30, 19:30, 20:30 and 20:45 (2)
Place your exeat or attendance slip on the master’s table before the start of first prep (2)
Sign out whenever leaving the hostel premises, and sign in again on your return (2)
Report back to the master on duty when returning from exeat (2)
Bring a letter from your parents in advance when leaving the premises overnight, or on unauthorised exeats (2)
Notify the senior housemaster if changing weekend arrangements (2)
Sign out before leaving the hostel on Fridays (2)
Treat all other people with courtesy and consideration (3)
Obtain a signed exeat from the duty master if leaving the hostel and school premises for private reasons (3)
 
 

DON’T

Enter a dormitory other than your own at any time (except prefects in the course of their duties) (1)
Indulge in horse-play anywhere in the house, at any time (1)
Use electrical appliances without authorisation (1)
Make or receive phone calls during prep or meals or after 22:00 (1)
Store food in anything other than sealed containers (1)
Unnecessarily waste anything: water, electricity, toilet paper, serviettes, food, etc (1)
Remove toilet rolls for private use as tissues (1)
Push in front of others ahead of you in a queue (1)
Be late for or disturb prep in any avoidable way (2)
Talk or make any disturbance in or near the dormitories after 22:00 (2)
Use the prefects' studies for any reason unless you are invited to do so by the prefects (2)
Hide other people's belongings from them (2)
Go anywhere on the premises that is out of normal bounds  (2)
Accept food, even if it is offered, from a boy junior to you. (2)
Use a lock on a locker without submitting spare key or combination, or break a lock without authorisation (3)
Steal anything, or borrow items from anyone who may feel it difficult to refuse (3)
Indulge in any form of massage involving boys of different ages (3)
Skip for a senior, or use a junior as a skip or servant (3)
Perform any act of initiation, bullying, victimisation, and physical or verbal assault (3)
Damage or endanger house or others' property (3)
Keep or use illegal items or substances on hostel or school premises (3)
Interfere with the demerit list in any unauthorised way (3)
Fail to perform a penalty task adequately and on time (3)
