Why choose Tsessebe House?

Tsessebe’s most remarkable characteristic is that it produces resilient and self-reliant young men who emerge with a distinct snapping of umbilicals, ready and able to make their own way in the world.  Though the boarding school environment is by no means an easy one, few Tsessebes who have stayed the course have regretted the experience.  Many have sent their sons to Tsessebe.

Discipline

In Tsessebe House, we believe that firm fair discipline is essential for the effective working of a boarding house.  It is our aim to develop in the boys a sense of self-discipline.  Transgression of any school or hostel rules will not be tolerated.

 Tsessebe aims to develop

  • A positive attitude throughout life;
  • The full academic potential of each boy;
  • Character, leadership, physical fitness and cultural enrichment through involvement in extra-curricular activities;
  • Moral and spiritual values, incorporating the respect of other persons, as well as the awareness of ethical values and principles;
  • A responsibility for the consequences of personal conduct;
  • An awareness of responsibility to one’s family, school and community.

Arrival and Departure

Boys must return to the hostel between 16:30 and 19:30 on Sunday evenings and should be collected on Friday afternoons between 14:45 and 17:30.

Special arrangements are made for weekly boarders who need to stay in on Friday nights for Saturday sporting commitments.
