A fairly broad range of activities comes under the general title “cultural”, and these include the following:
- Chess
We have several teams of talented learners and we participate in an inter-school league. - Choir
The choir performs at various festivals and concerts, and these include solos and duets for interested boys. - Debating
Learners participate in inter-school debates as well as inter-house debates organised during the year. - Drama
In addition to the annual school play, our learners are usually invited to participate in the annual play at our sister school, and we regularly take part in the two major local inter school festivals, RAPS and EADS. We also run our own inter house plays festival, usually in the third term. - Global Young Leaders Conference
Each year we are invited to nominate boys to participate in this prestigious conference, though it is quite expensive for the boys concerned; sponsorship is sometimes available. - JAM
Jesus And Me, is our own version of a students’ Christian association, and meets regularly, mostly during lunch breaks, often with guest speakers. - Junior City Council
We send two representatives to the JCC each year. - Music
Each week there is an extra-mural music-reading class for interested boys, and those who wish to learn particular instruments are able to get reasonably priced tuition at the Music Centre of our sister school. - Olympiads
We regularly participate in the various Olympiads – English, Mathematics and Science are the main ones. - Public Speaking
We participate in the SACHEE League in addition to scheduling inter house public speaking competitions during the year. - RCL Outreach
Our Representative Council of Learners regularly assists with local charities in various ways in addition to undertaking some fund-raising on their behalf. - Rotary Leadership Programme
Each we are invited to nominate boys to participate in leadership workshops. - Wild Life Society
Projects and outings are arranged according to the interests and availability of the boys concerned.
