Jeppe rugby has had one its finest weeks.

The crowing moment was Sbu Nkosi becoming the school’s fifth Springbok, and then going on to score two tries in his debut against England on Saturday night. At the same time, Wandisele Simelane and Tyrone Green have been the standout players for the Junior Springboks playing in the World Rugby Under-20 Championships in France, and old boy Bafana Nhleko is the assistant coach of the team.

And it shouldn’t be forgotten, while Super Rugby is on a break, that another old boy, Hacjivah Dyamani made the starting line up of the Lions side in their most recent matches.

And there are going to be Jeppe boys aplenty in the Golden Lions under-16 and under-18 teams that will be playing in interprovincial weeks during the upcoming holidays.

A record 24 players from the school have been selected, including 10 in the under-18A team that will be going to the Craven Week in Paarl from July 9th to 14th, and five in the under-16A team that will be playing at the Grant Khomo Week in Kimberley from July 2nd to 7th.
