Cricket season ends on a high
The first half of the cricket season has come to an end with a flurry of good results for all the Jeppe teams.
The last few weeks have been taken up mainly by Johnny Waite T20 round robin games for the under-14A, under-15A, 2nd and 1st teams.
The opposition hasn’t always been of the best, but there were, nevertheless, a number of good individual performances.
Only one team – the 2nd XI – lost a Johnny Waite game when they went down to King Edward and, although there are still two rounds of pool games to be played in the new year, it’s likely that all the Jeppe teams will be going through to the knockout phase of the tournament.
The under-14A team beat St John’s during the week to maintain their unbeaten record, while the under-15As have also been in fine form.
Jeppe have eight players going to interprovincial weeks during the holidays.
They are:
Under-19A – Kgaudise Molefe; Safaraz Mohammed-Ahmed
Under-17A – Levert Manje; Linda Ndlovu
Under-15A – Mashigo Nhanhla; Breiden Shaper
Under-15B – Cian Robertson; Braydon Hicks.
