MIC PHOTOGRAPHY – Mrs L Theunissen
The photography club was started at the end of 2015. The aim of the club is to teach Jeppe Boys the art of taking a good photograph. This starts with the care of the equipment, the proper use of the camera and trying to compose ‘the perfect’ shot. The boys soon learn that the perfect shot may involve an entire day at the side of a field taking hundreds of photos. What the club would like to have is a pool of boys who are all capable photographers. These boys can then record all events that happen at Jeppe, be it 1st XI team hockey or u14 D rugby, the Pipe Band, break time fun or even evenings in the hostile. All of these pictures can then create “A Day in the Life of a Jeppe Boy”.
So far we have had the privilege of capturing AB de Villiers book launch at Jeppe Boys, a former Sharks captain- Percy Montgomery and various guest speakers. A surprise coaching session by Protea cricket player – Stephen Cook as well as other various Lions cricketers. We have also managed to acquire a media pass to take photographs of an event at the Emirates Airline Park where the Jeppe 1st XI team rugby played a curtain raising rugby match to kick off one of the Lions games.
