The Grade 11 Public Speaking team got it’s programme off to a good start at the High School Public Speaking Festival at Saheti this week. Jeppe entered two teams and they scored an A and a B plus, respectively.
It was a good starts, said Ms Kelly Adams, the teacher in charge of the team. “The boys spoke well and will only get better as the season progresses.” Ms Adams explained that the public speaking boys work on their speeches individually and then come to the teachers involved for help and guidance.
“I want to make special mention of Pandor Faku, who came in at the last minute to fill in for a late withdrawal due to illness and more than held his own in the team that earned a B plus score,” she said.
The Saheti Festival was a once off event and the public speaking boy are now hard at work preparing for the SDCSA competition that lies ahead.
