Kabelo Mokheti and Sibusiso Shongwe were named in the South African Schools A rugby teams that will be playing a series of matches against international opposition in Cape Town in August.
They were selected at the Craven Week during the holidays where they both performed well in a Golden Lions side that did not do particularly well.
“I was happy with my personal game,” Kabelo said, “but our forward pack was never able to dominate the opposition, so we were always on the back foot.”
The team did manage to put it together in their final game. They beat Free State comfortably, showing what could have been, with a little luck.
The pair will be off to Cape Town for a training camp shortly, ahead of their opening match against the French under-18 team on the 9th of August.
They play against Wales on Tuesday August 13th and against Argentina on Saturday August 17th.
